movie assignment

we were assigned to watch and write a paper for a documentary regarding marketing ethics. today a few groups had their debate and examination and we got to watch their movie. this movie was about the food industry and how man has started to produce GM-foods, that is food that has been developed through GMO (genetically modified organisms).

Also, we were shown footages of how badly animals are treated just to become food for us! It is hideous. I decided not to eat chicken anymore. And ONLY buy ecologic food (when possible).

You can make a difference too!

did you know…

… that there is more organic cotton sold than what is produced?

this means that part of the organic cotton on the market is not in fact organic at all. further the cotton fields for organic cotton are situated next to the fields where they use pesticides, which pollutes the organic cotton as well.

the coloring process is also the same when it comes to regular cotton and organic cotton, so even if the cotton itself is clean from pesticides the fabric is not after being colored. Some colors are even cancerous!

Sustainable development

When studying economy one come across green economy and ethics where there is obvious proof that our society can not go on and live like we do today if we want to preserve the environment for our future generations.

We do not have to buy fresh air to be able to breath, today, But in a 100 years that might be the case. The forests are renewable if we can make sure not to cut all of them down before new ones are able to grow. Oil and metals are on the other side resources that are not renewable. To get 1 gram of gold one has to smash 10 000 ton of mountains, that is just such a waste!

We need to work on maintaining an environment that makes the economy grow or stay steady but at the same time leave room for a sustainable future. Or is that even possible?

Did you know...

...that there aren't enough resources on earth to continue the growth in economy we have today?
